Overview

Add support for BIND9 9.20 and onwards to the ansible-bind9-role, in addition to the currently supported BIND9 9.18.

Rationale

  • BIND9 9.20 introduces significant changes compared to 9.18
  • Need to maintain compatibility with both versions due to different deployment scenarios
  • Should establish separate maintenance branches for 9.18 LTS and 9.20+ releases

Tasks

  • Identify breaking changes between 9.18 and 9.20
  • Test role compatibility with BIND9 9.20+
  • Update configuration templates if needed
  • Update documentation with version-specific notes
  • Add molecule tests for 9.20+

Note: Consolidating with #9 "Create feature/bind9-20-support branch with 9.20 templates" which provides the more specific implementation approach for this work. The version maintenance strategy from PR #7 now provides the overarching framework for this effort."
